Usage sharing & feedback
Your Desk works whether or not you share usage. Usage sharing starts off. You can choose it in your account menu under “Getting started & privacy.”
When you choose to share usage
We count a limited set of actions: getting started, choosing what to add, completing or failing a save, opening material, using Library and search, opening or creating chapters, sharing, requesting offline access, and setting alarms. We record the broad kind of item, the result, the day, and whether you use the browser, iPhone or iPad.
We do not include your titles, URLs, search words, filenames, photographs, audio, transcripts, notes, or writing in usage events. There is no screen recording, general click capture, advertising tracker, or third-party analytics service.
A random identifier groups events so we can count people who return. The account service maintains the connection needed to apply your choice and delete your usage history. This is pseudonymous usage, not a promise that it is impossible to connect to an account. Only aggregate usage is shown in the owner’s report.
If you arrive through a Stockton or Rowan invitation link and choose to share usage, we retain that link’s label. It does not tell us where you study. We do not collect browsing history or referrers.
Usage events are removed by daily cleanup after 90 days. Turning sharing off deletes your usage history and stops new collection. If you turn it off while disconnected, that device stops immediately; connect again to apply the choice to your account. Other devices may need to reconnect to receive the updated choice. The service rejects events after the account choice is off.
Feedback you choose to send
You can send feedback with usage sharing off. Only the feedback category, your message, an optional reply address you enter, and the platform are included. No Desk content or screenshot is attached automatically. Messages are removed by daily cleanup after 180 days, and the product owner can read them. Please include only what you want to send.
This page describes optional product learning. Account sign-in, storage, synchronization, and essential service security operate separately.
